Music Salon in the Backloft

As I am still struggling with sorting endless data lists, very short blog post this time. If you are planning to have a night out tomorrow I would recommend the music salon taking place in the backloft of the Cathedral Studios (7-11 St. Augustine Street, Dublin 8). More information under: www.thebackloft.blogspot.com

The salon will provide a playful, informal showcase for solo performances on piano, accordion and voice by Pesoa and Monaco, with special guests Robotnik, Eoin Dillon (of Kila), cabaret chanteuses Maria Tecce and Anne Lillis accompanied by cellist Kim Porcelli, and experimental trio the Photosonic Orchestra. Pianist Alberto Gariglio, singer-songwriter Stefano Schiavocampo (aka Steve Slavefield), Eimear and Claire Crehan will round out the evening with original and atmospheric melodies" Start is at 7:30 till late. When: Friday, 20th of February Entry: 10/8 Euro Have a great night!

An Alternative to Teddy Bears

Yes, it's this time of the year again. For those amongst you who are in a relationship it is now time to think about Saturday, and for those of you who need a little reminder: It's Valentine's day! I will probably be at home analysing excel lists of survey data - thanks a mill to everybody taking my survey - but for those of you looking for a place to go to, my suggestion would be Bewley's Cafe in Grafton Street.

To quote the organizers: "From the people who brought you the sell out success of the Tribute to the Ladies of Jazz shows, comes the most romantic show for Valentine's Day." The show is called: A tribute to Love presenting Jazz songs performed by Valerie Coyne.

Everyone been upstairs to the Bewley's cafe probably agrees with me that the venue is just perfect for a romantic evening. The night starts at 8.30 p.m. on Saturday Night. Tickets are priced at 20 Euro. For bookings contact Bewley's Cafe under 00353 (0) 868784001.

Fansights 2.0 - Back to College

In case you are wondering what's going on here and why there's still a Christmas post up at the end of January ... I am back in college and writing right now on my master thesis. On the bright side, as I am a real music addict, my research is of course: About music! More exactly about "Music Marketing Online".

Fansights 2.0 - The survey

My survey Fansights 2.0 is about music marketing on social networking sites (e.g. MySpace, Bebo, Facebook) and the perception of these marketing techniques among music fans.

Are you on MySpace, Bebo or Facebook?

I am still looking for music fans and music promoters who would be willing to take part in my survey. If you could take a few minutes to fill out the survey or pass it on to interested friends I would really appreciate it. You can also drop me a message under www.myspace.com/fansights and you will receive a copy of the results once they are published. Thanks for your interest!
